Lisa was a delight: an intelligent, witty, caring and compassionate woman with a heart of gold and a lot of empathy and integrity. She had the most positive attitude and could be just delightful. I never met her face to face but over the years we spoke on the phone at various times, and I always felt that we had a strong connection as if we were long time friends. She was brave, resilient, and vulnerable all at the same time. She founded this site based on her passion for and esteem towards CF. I thank her for that, and for all of her wonderful posts, her delightful sense of humor, her old soul wisdom, and her gentle spirit. Although I knew that she was terribly ill, her death is a shock. The world is a better place for Lisa having been here. She is free now from her physical ills. May she dance and sing in heaven with the angels and only know peace and joy. I miss her terribly already but feel blessed to have been able to call her friend.

Just adding my feelings of shock and loss here, too. When I first admired CF and found this site, Lisa's humor and intelligence made me feel like I wasn't comertu out of my mind--or if I was, that's not so bad, either
Two gone in one month.. I expect everyone here to be bullet proof against time and disease...would that it were so!
To Lisa's family: Know that she brought extra joy and verve to multitudes of people and we willi miss her.
Cheers and hugs to us all-- Chris

This morning I was still thinking and praying for our Lisa and Anne and as the words are always insufficient to explain my feelings I thought about this touching, sweet and consolatory song of Eric Clapton. I dedicate it to you dearest Lisa and Anne...keep an eyes on us from above

I don't know how to do the touching and beautiful posters that my dear friend Department of Something creates, but thought the words of this lovely poem by Henry Van Dyke were lovely and so apt for our Lisa and Anne...
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side, spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone." Gone where? Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side. And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.
And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone," there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!" And that is dying...

My Firthie Friends and Friends of Lisa Pike I have been in contact with Oxfam America about perhaps doing a Memorial Page for Lisa Pike but they don't do pages like that. However, I was wondering if we could do something similar to the one I made for Anne Govier? It was with the site Much Loved and we could collect for Oxfam America over there. What do you think? Here is Anne's link again. We can light candles, tell our stories, post pictures and music, etc. Please let me know what you think. I have also wr itten to Christy/Peachy, Lisa's daughter.

I still feel shocked from the loss of Lisa and Anne...
I can only dedicate to them the final piece from "A Single Man" music score, as I'd like to know that they, like George, left their lives in hope and serenity

I read the subject and thought she had finally decided to hand over the reins, I know she has been so sick over the years, but I never expected this. Perhaps because she was so sick she had come to seem immortal. Rest in Peace.

Dearest Lisa, Your devoted efforts at FS, your kindness and graciousness have been inspirational. It is often those who have the least strength who offer the most of themselves to others. I am thankful for your years at this site, your expressions of good wishes and your shining example. May you be forever blessed. You will be very missed and always remembered. Sincerely, Kissedbycolin

I have been travelling without my computer this past week, so I haven't been on the site. What a shock to come home to.
Rest in peace, Lisa. My heartfelt condolences to her loved ones.
I join all FS in yet another moment of grief.
